Three more deaths raise toll to 82
Valley experience violence on Eid

srinagar, Sept 13: The death toll in the continuing Kashmir violence reached 82 today as three more persons including a police constable died in separate incidents in different parts of Kashmir valley. Meanwhile authorities imposed curfew across valley to thwart UN chalo call given by the separatist leaders.
Reports said that 21 year old Murtaza Mir got killed in the firing of police and security forces at Bandipora in North Kashmir. Protests erupted in the area after the culmination of the congregational Eid prayers. Some of the protesters sustained injuries during the incident among which Murtaza succumbed to his injuries at the hospital. Reports said that a youth identified as Shahid Ahmad got killed after security forces opened fire on a group of people at Largam in South Kashmir's Shopian district. However, a police spokesman said that Shahid was missing for the last two days and that his body was recovered from the Shopian area. The spokesman denied that Shahid died in the firing of security Reports said that one person died in the firing of police and security forces in Kulgam also in South Kashmir. However the same was not confirmed by the police officials.
A police constable died of cardiac arrest after his area came under intense shelling in the Awantipora area in the Pulwama district in South Kashmir. The police constable had come to his home to celebrate Eid with his family but died after suffering a massive heart attack..
Reports said that one person died in the firing of police and security forces in Kulgam also in South Kashmir. However the same was not confirmed by the police officials.
Reports said that protests broke out at various places in Central, South and North Kashmir immediately after the Eid prayers. At least 200 persons sustained injuries during in the clashes. In Srinagar a youth sustained bullet injuries in his leg at Batmaloo.
At the same time authorities imposed curfew across Kashmir in order to thwart the UN chalo call given by the separatists. Due to the imposition of curfew Eid prayers could not be held at many places in the valley including the summer capital of Srinagar.
At the same time a police constable who was injured in an encounter with militants at Nowhatta passed away at AIIMS in New Delhi. The police constable was identified as Rauf Ahmad.
