Maintain vigil against forces hell bent to disrupt peace, harmony: Dy CM | | | Early Times Report
Kathua, Sept 13: Asserting that people of Jammu and Kashmir have maintained the age old amity among diverse communities despite attempts by peace inimical elements to create communal wedge between various communities, Deputy Chief Minister Dr Nirmal Singh today people appealed the people of the state to maintain vigil against the forces hell bent to disrupt peace and harmony. Deputy Chief Minister Dr Nirmal Singh said this while addressing a public meeting at village Chajarth in border area of Hiranagar today. Dr Singh said that present PDP-BJP alliance is marching ahead with an agenda to bring the state on development path by devising out schemes and programme for all sections of the society. He said that the present dispensation has initiated developmental projects to meet the aspiration and expectations of the people. Highlighting various achievements of present regime, Dr Singh said several landmark decisions like setting up of medical colleges, engineering colleges, Universities, AIIMS, IIT, IIM and IIMC besides other infrastructure for bringing the quality change in the lives of the people. Deputy Chief Minister Dr Singh said that government is moving ahead with the vision to bring J&K on the world tourism map. He also said that a process for construction of Rs 1000 Cr Tawi River Front has been initiated on the lines of Sabarmati River Front Model under which tourist amenities will be developed to attract tourist footfall in Jammu also. He further said ambitious project like developing water sports at Ranjit Sagar Dam Reservoir, Gondola at Patnitop and Ropeway Project at Mubarak Mandi-Bawe Wali Mata will contribute immensely to attract tourists. Highlighting the various schemes and programmes of state as well as central government Deputy CM said that under centrally sponsored scheme Deen Dayal Upadhayay Gramin Vidyutikiran Yojna 100% rural electrification will soon be achieved. He said under UJALA scheme LED bulbs on subsidized rates will be given to every family which will not only bring electricity bill down for the consumers but also save the electricity for the state and the nation as well. He further said that government is working on a plan to allocate 1.0 Cr for each constituency for poles and electricity wires which will improve the electricity scenario in the state. He also informed the work on Rs 47 Cr Juthana Bridge will commence soon which will help people of area to get all weather road connectivity and also assured that all the projected issues by the people will be redressed on priority.
