Enough proof to nail Pak | | | Despite repeated denials by it that it has not at any point of time extended support to terrorists in Kashmir, the whole world knows that Pakistan has been aiding and abetting terrorism in J&K. To prove it wrong, India has got a long list of Pakistani terrorists who have been captured from different J&K areas and are now languishing in jails here and elsewhere in the country. This is the biggest example of the Pak hand in J&K terrorism. The latest to be caught is Bahadur Ali. Another Pak terrorist Irfan, the main accused in the 1995 M A Stadium serial blasts, was caught from near Bari Brahmana a few months after the explosions. He was put in the 'high-security' Kot-Bhalwal jail which he had later broken along with two other terrorists. They were later believed to have exfiltrated to Pakistan from a Jammu border. After planting bombs inside the stadium, he had comfortably stayed at the government quarter of the driver of a politician, who was then a minister and is no more now, at Panjtirthi here. A police document says the driver had also taken Irfan to Kishtwar and helped him to establish a wide network of contacts in the erstwhile Doda district. Irony is that despite so much of proof against the driver, he was not even questioned by police for harbouring the Pak terrorist. Another Pak militant Mohammad Naved of Ghulam Mustafabad, Faislabad, was caught from Udhampur on August 5, 2015 soon after he and his accomplice had attacked a BSF convoy on the national highway near Udhampur. His accomplice, whom LeT terrorist Naved had identified as Noman alias Momin of Bahawalpur, Pakistan, was killed in retaliatory action by the BSF personnel. Naved had told media after his arrest that he had come to India to kill Hindus and there was fun in doing this. Bahadur Ali is the latest to be apprehended by forces from the valley during an encounter. Amid the growing hostility between the two neighbouring countries, foreign secretary S Jaishankar had some time back summoned Pak envoy Abdul Basit to his New Delhi office and issued him a strong demarche over his country's continued support to cross-border terrorism in Kashmir, saying that it had fuelled unrest in the valley. He also made a specific reference to LeT terrorist Bahadur Ali, a resident of Zia Bagga village of Pakistan, who was caught on July 25 last from North Kashmir along with arms and explosives. He had confessed to his interrogators that after training in LeT terror camps in Pakistan, he was infiltrated into the Indian territory to create trouble in Kashmir. During his stay in Kashmir, he was in touch with an 'operations room' of LeT in Pakistan, receiving instructions to target Indian forces and carry out other terrorist attacks in the valley. This also belies the Pak claims that there are no militant training camps on its soil. New Delhi this time was, however, prompt enough to register its protest against the continued infiltration of trained terrorists from Pakistan. India said this was contrary to the assurances given by Pakistan at the highest level. Bahadur is said to have made certain startling revelations about the anti-India activities of terror groups on the Pak soil. India is likely to use this information against Pakistan at some appropriate platform. Jibran was the other Pak terrorist apprehended by army from Bhatindi area of Jammu a few years back. He had told journalists that even as he had infiltrated into J&K to fight 'jehad', he wanted to go back to Pakistan and tell the misguided youth undergoing training sessions in militant training camps that Muslims had been living happily in India and no atrocities were being committed on them by the Indian establishment. Jaish-e-Mohammad chief Moulana Azhar Masood, who was released in exchange for the passengers and crew of IC-814 in Kandhar on December 31, 1999, was too lodged in the Kot-Bhalwal jail of Jammu along with several other Pakistani militants. He was arrested by security agencies from Kashmir. He hails from Bahawalpur, Pakistan. His terrorist group is responsible for the Pathankot airbase attack and the suicide attack on Srinagar assembly complex soon after 9/11. Given its past record, this time also Pakistan is not expected to act against terror groups on its soil. Let India find out other ways to corner it at the international level so that a pressure is built on it to close down all terror camps on its soil and stop infiltrating terrorists into India. The moment Pakistan stops aiding and abetting terrorism in India, peace will automatically start taking roots in the South Asian region, thus making it free of bloodshed and innocent killings at the hands of terrorists. Let an atmosphere be created for humans to live in a fear-free atmosphere. |
