Gandhinagar Hospital celebrates National Voluntary Blood Donation Day | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Oct 1: was celebrated at the Blood Bank at Government Hospital Gandhinagar Jammu in collaboration with J&K State AIDS Control Society today organized an 'awareness cum blood voluntary donation camp to mark National Voluntary Blood Donation Day . Nursing students from various private nursing colleges and Government ANMT School Participated in the programme and about 40 units of blood was donated to blood bank during this camp. Dr Madhuri Slathia Medical Superitendent inaugurated the programme along with Dr Arun Sharma Dy Medical Superintendent while the camp concluded with distribution of gifts to donors and participants of symposium and poster making contest by Dr Gurjeet Singh Director Health Services (DHS) Jammu. The objective of the camp was to increase awareness among the peoples of this Country, the importance of voluntary blood donation, to achieve 100% Voluntary Blood Donation, so as to be able to give the safest blood to the needy patients, to have enough blood stock in our blood banks for any eventuality and to inspire those who has not donated blood but are in good health, to start donating blood voluntarily. Dr Yash Pal Krysal Asstt Director J&K State AIDS Control Society along with Dr Sumeera Khan Programme Officer STI/CST, Risheesh Khajuria Asstt Director(IEC) & Rajesh Sharma Asstt Director (Youth Affairs) from State AIDS Control Society J&K also motivated the participants for voluntary blood donation. Among others present on this occasion were included Dr Vaishali Gupta Sr Pathologist, Dr Arfa Blood Bank Officer, Dr Din Mohd MO Stores, Gurdeep I/C Blood Bank, Mohd Nadeem Infection control Manager, Ashok Verma Young Blood Organisation. |
