Search operation in Mankote forests called off | | | M S Nazki Early Times Report
Poonch, Oct 1: The joint search cum combing operation launched by the security forces to nab the suspects who were reportedly spotted on Thursday in Mankote forests was called off presuming the escape of suspects, official sources here today. "A joint search operation was carried today by SOGs of Poonch and Mendhar , the personnel of 37 RR and 39 RR in Mankote forests in Mendhar tehsil followed by an input that at least 5 suspects were spotted here suspiciously moving on Thursday," said official sources. They said that the suspects have been managed to give a slip to security forces taking advantage of darkness and dense vegetation and thus the operation turned to be futile after three day long search. While confirming the presence of suspects in the forests, Sub Divisional Police Officer (SDPO), Shahid Naeem told that after specific information from reliable sources about the presence of suspects in the Mankote forests a joint search operation was launched by security forces. Police official further said that the suspects managed to give slip to cordon due to rugged terrain and dense vegetation and might have crossed to the other side. "We have been searching for the last three days but the operation turned futile thus it was called off today , he added. |
