Helpless BJP announces ex-gratia for Uri martyrs, Govt not ready to respect Dogra soldiers | | | Early Times Report jammu, Oct 1: Following its failure to convince the state government to give respect to the Dogra martyrs, the helpless BJP today announced five lakh ex-gratia to the each family of Uri martyrs. This ex-gratia will be given on the behalf of the BJP but state government, in which BJP is equal partner, has yet not announce even a single penny for the Uri martyrs. To save its own skin, the helpless BJP has announced ex-gratia for Uri martyrs. By announcing ex-gratia for Uri martyrs BJP has given a clear message that the party ministers in the coalition government have miserable failed to convince its coalition partner-PDP to get ex-gratia announce for the martyrs. This decision of the BJP has also given a message that except enjoying power in the government BJP is least concern about wishes and aspirations of the people of Jammu region. Important to mention here that State BJP, during its Working Committee meeting at Udhampur, while expressing sympathies with the families of Uri martyrs, announced that each family of both the jawans hailing from Jammu province will be given rupees five lakh as compensation from the party and further stressed upon the State government to provide adequate compensation to them.The meeting was held on Thursday at Udhampur. State president of BJP Sat Sharma, in his presidential address, said that the BJP stands with the bereaved families of Uri martyrs and will provide compensation of rupees 5 lakh to each family of the soldiers from Jammu province. Credible sources said that party has taken decision to announce ex-gratia for martyrs only on its own when party ministers expressed their helplessness to convince coalition partner PDP to honour Dogra martyrs. |
