Jammu, Oct 1: The Income tax Department , J&K has made remarkable achievement in not only achieving the original targets given but exceeding revised targets as well given to it by the Ministry of Finance for Income Declaration Scheme-2016 launched by the Government which came to end on the mid night of 30th September, 2016. It has been informed by the sources from the Department at Jammu that the total amount of Income declared under the scheme by the assesses from the state stood at Rs. 224.52 Cr from 611 declarations made. This figure may further increase after the inclusion of declarations and amount declared by the declarant of the state directly to CPC, Banglore, which was also an authorized authority for direct declarations to maintain complete confidentiality. It was further informed that the charge of J&K has remained on top among the other state of the North West Region comprising of economically much better station like Amritsar, Jallandhar, Ludhiana, Patiala, Bhatinda, Chandigarh of Punjab and other stations from Himachal Pardesh, Haryana which comes within the North West Region controlled from Chandigarh. Pr. Commissioner of Income Tax, J&K,. Sangeeta Gupta, while acknowledging the achievements of the department has conveyed her sincere gratitude and thanks to all the stake holders including the assessees of the State, Tax Professionals Chartered Accountants, Advocates, Jewellers Associations and Various Trade/Beopar Mandals bodies of all the stations of the State who inspite of the large scale disturbances in the state for the last more than three months which has adversely affected their businesses, have not only extended their full cooperation for the scheme but also have made up the shortfall from the large part of the state comprising of the Kashmir Division. |
