Vijaypur, Oct 1: Former Minister and JKPCC General Secretary Manjit Singh today appealed Government to provide five marla plots to the border residents as per the commitments in the safer places. "The situation on the International Border is worse and people living along the borders are forced to leave their houses and constantly living under the fear of being bombed," said Manjit Singh. Speaking monthly meeting of Congress workers in Vijaypur, the Congress leader referring to present situation on the border discussed the miseries of border people. Hailing the Indian Army for its 'surgical strike' in PoK and killing many terrorists, Manjit Singh said, " Army has taken such a brave step which Pakistan and its sponsored terrorists would never forget. "As the tension has erupted on the borders, we need to take care of the border residents besides supporting our security forces," he said and appealed the Government to fulfill their promise to provide five marla plot to each family who is resident of border in the safer places. "They need safer places at this moment," said JKPCC general secretary. Criticizing State Government, Manjit Singh said that when entire nation stood with the martyrs of Uri, Pathankot and other terrorist attacks, "J&K Government did not release any compensation like other states in the country for the martyrs." |
