Five narco- peddlers held with narcotics 10/1/2016 11:32:08 PM Early Times Report jammu, Oct 1: In continuation to the operation 'Sanjeevni' launched by SSP Jammu against drug peddlers Jammu police claimed to have arrested five narcotics peddlers alongwith smugglers 5.5 Gms of Heroin and 4.0 Kgs of Poppy Straw (Bhukki) which were recovered from their possession during naka checking under jurisdiction of in Gangyal and Satwari police. Police spokesperson said, "Gangyal police today arrested a drug peddler and recovered one and half kg ganja from his possession while Satwari police recovered 5.5 grams of heroin and 2.5 kg poppy straw and arrested four persons." "On specific information a special naka was laid at Gangyal Garden Sec 2, one pedestrian was put to frisking and during his personnel search one and a half kg Ganja (cannabis) was recovered from his possession clandestinely being carried in black polythene bag." "The accused has been identified as Shashi Kumar Sahu son of Shiya Ram Sahu of Chattisgarh presently staying at Marble Market", said police spokesman. He said that a case under FIR no 109 u/s 8/20 NDPS Act against accused stands registered. Spokesperson stated that the arrest was made by Inspector Aejaz Wani under the supervision of SP South Shezad Slaria. Meanwhile, Satwari police under Op Sanjeevani arrested four persons and recovered 5.5 grams heroin and 2.5 kg poppy straw (bhukki) from their possession. Police spokesman said that they have recovered 5.5 grams of heroin from the possession of Adil Hussain Dar son of Nazir Ahmed Dar of Qazigund and 2.5 kg Poppy straw from the possession of Nazir Ahmed Dar son of Abdul Rehman Dar, Asif Hussain son of Gh. Ahmed Dar both residents of Qazigund and Nazir Ahmed son of Mohd Munshi of Darshopur Miran Sahib."
