Low quality Hemophilia factors irk SMGSH patients | Authorities assure quality of factors | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Oct 5: The patients accused the administration of Government Medical College and Hospital (GMC&H) and SMGS hospital Jammu for providing low quality Hemophilia factors to patients. The patients see a nexus of some outsiders and employees of SMGS hospital which, they said, was not only misguiding the patients but providing low quality factors to them. However, the officials have denied the allegations. They cleared the factors have been purchased after getting satisfactory reports from Indian biggest laboratory under Government of India. Sources told Early Times that the procurement of factors had been done by the Jammu and Kashmir Medical Supplies Corporation after obtaining testing reports from India's largest testing lab-- National Institute of Biologicals (NIB) of Health and Family Welfare Department, Government of India. The factors are of standard quality as certified by testing laboratory. Preferring anonymity, an official of SMGS Hospital said two mild reaction cases have been reported since the factors were being administrated to the patients. It is not big deal as the reaction could take place to patients for not following the required procure before administering or with any allergy. In this regard, a meeting was also held at GMC&H Jammu and the doctors were told to file their complaints in writing so that administration could take up the matter with concern but unfortunately, the doctors failed to do so. "Before this case, the patients were influenced and misguided by the doctors of GMC&H Jammu but now the same politics has been started over the factors in SMGS Hospital, "Officials, seeking anonymity said. Assuring quality of procured factors, MD of JKMSC Dr Yashpal Sharma said that the Corporation has procured the factors on lowest rates through tender process after getting testing reports from NIB, which is biggest testing lab in the country. "We have followed the guidelines of World Federation of Hemophilia and World Health Organization to procure the factors, "Dr Yash said and adding that the corporation had never compromised the quality of drugs. |
