IPS officer shifted out of JK to foil his bid to get central deputation | Hulchul in Police | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Oct 5: A senior IPS officer has been transferred out of J&K by the government to foil his attempt to get central deputation. The officer was very close to the corridors of power and would even walk to the chief minister's office without appointment before the valley unrest that erupted after the killing of terrorist Burhan in July last. However, after the situation turned violent, the government started maintaining a distance from him and even reprimanded him at times, police sources said. He felt so harassed that he made up his mind to move to Delhi on central deputation. Sources said two days after he applied for central deputation in the last week of September, the government ordered his transfer out of J&K, thereby foiling his bid to get a posting at the Centre. Though there was no post of his rank at the new place of posting, a temporary post was created for him, sources informed. He has held several significant postings in the state and also has a good hold on the police apparatus here. Sources claimed that he had been transferred outside J&K due to the politics against him in the department. |
