Early Times Report JAMMU, Oct 5: A police post head posted in Jammu south is alleged to have freed an impersonator after allegedly taking from him a bribe of Rs 10,000. A youth came to a government office, that falls under the jurisdiction of the police post, in connection with the work of his friend, and allegedly impersonated as his friend, but he was identified by the officer concerned and then handed over to police, according to police. However, instead of registering a case against him, the police post incharge allegedly released him in the evening after taking Rs 10,000 as bribe from. The deal was struck in a car outside the police post, sources said. Before releasing him, the PP head told him that he would have to come back if the civil officer ever enquired about him. He was assured, however, by him of all police help, sources alleged. Even as it was a clear case of cheating, no case was registered against him, sources claimed. |
