27 shops, 3 vehicles gutted in Sawjiyan in Pak firing | | | M S Nazki Early Times Report Poonch Oct 5: Atleast 27 shops which include majority of Kacha structures and owned by poor people of the Sawjian of Poonch district along with three vehicles got gutted in a fire triggered due to heavy Pakistan shelling and apparently have deprived small traders from their livelihood. Sources said that dozens of mortar shells landed in Sawjiyan market on Monday and some of these shells landed on a BSF camp and in the market destroying twenty seven shops resulting colossal damage while a car and two mororcycles also got damaged completely. Most shops were Kacha structures and owned by poor people of the area who were running small business establishments to earn their livelihood. Alleging none from administration yet have reached to assess the loss, the Chairman Mendhar Youth Club Adv Nadeem Rafiq Hussain Khan lambasted administration saying no senior officer so far visited the area and further immediate compensation to be given to the affected poor people. |
