"Kalash Yatra" taken out | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Nov 15: A grand "Kalash Yatra" taken out this afternoon on the occasion of beginning of seven day Ram Katha at Gole Gujral, Jammu. The Yatra commenced from Gole Gujral and passed through various lanes and by lanes of the area and culminated back at Gole Gujral. Hundreds of devotees participated in the Yatra . The participants chanted Bhajans amidst beating of drums. A colourful procession of women carrying Kalash, followed by youths clad in whit cloths attracted the crowd. They appraised Mohalla welfare Gole Gujral for organizing such religious events in Jammu, the city of temples. Speaking on the occasion, Sant Shri Dinesh Bharti lauded the efforts of the Mohalla welfare Gole Gujral for successfully organizing the event and called upon the people to participate in the events which are part of the rich culture of the State. He said joint celebrations by people from all walks of life is hall mark of the composite culture or the State and strengthens the social fabric of the society. Speaking on the occasion, organizing secretary Mohalla welfare Gole Gujral informed that the Ram Katha Saptah which is starting today will continue till November 21 daily from 02:00 pm to 05:00 pm at Gole Gujral, here. |
