Axe likely to fall on separatist friendly bureaucrats, instigators of unrest | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Nov 15: The government has started preparing a list of senior bureaucrats who were deeply involved in the continuation of the unrest and were probably fuelling it at the behest of their political masters. The list has been almost complied and it is being fool proof legal cover. "At first we sacked the junior officials. It was a signal to the senior officers that they too are not off the hook. But, they didn't take us seriously and continue to foment trouble believing that this government will go away in just few-day. Now, they will face the music," said a senior official.' The first hint about the government plan was dropped by none other than the PDP MP and former deputy chief minister Muzaffar Hussain Beigh at a rally in the Srinagar last evening. "The government should terminate the officers who were working for the interests of different political parties but taking government salary. These officers should be thrown out as they are playing politics and staying at the home of some politicians till late night rather than working for the government," said Beigh at the rally. The sources said though the plan was still kept secret Beigh had probably dispelled it to send a reminder for other officers who might be taking cue from handful of these officers and might have been contemplating to follow them. Sources, said most of such officers are knee-deep involved in the corruption and there are many scams in their cupboard which will come down rolling like skeletons. "They were also the same set of people who were on the tight leash by the CM who had made it clear she will accept no-nonsense and the corrupt practices will not be tolerated. They were already on the radar and so were ploying to topple this government. However, now the worst phase is over, the notification for the official sacking will be made very soon," said the official. |
