Early Times Report
Bhadarwah, Dec 06: Alleging discrimination and step-motherly treatment by the present coalition in various spheres especially in developmental projects, the senior citizens joined by some political leaders held a strong protest today at Bhadarwah.
To press their demand to restore the pristine glory of Bhadarwah and to restart the abandoned developmental projects, senior citizens and veteran leaders gathered at historical Takia Chowk.
Raising slogans against the authorities for neglecting Bhadarwah, they said, "Coalition government is testing our patience by pushing us to the corner by depriving us of our basic rights."
"We are not demanding anything new or big but we are simply asking authorities at helms of affairs why the already sanctioned projects are either being shifted from here or suddenly abandoned," alleged Veteran Political leader Mast Nath Yogi while addressing the gathering.
He demanded work on the already sanctioned projects by the then Cheif Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad including indoor stadium at University Campus, Herbal Garden and staff quarters at new Hospital needs to be started immediately. Yogi added if collation government continues to play with the sentiments of Bhadarwah people then people will be left with no other option but to launch mass agitation.
Speakers also said that locals have been made to suffer to even get basic medicare facility as non of the specialist doctors especially Gynecologist , Surgeon Specialist and Anesthetic as many are ready to stay but the non availability of staff quarter at new hospital forces them to shy away from the duties.
"We fail to understand after acquiring 8 kanals of land and sanctioning of Rs 2 crores for construction a hospital 5 years back but the work yet has not started for this much needed project?," questioned a social worker Riaz Ahmed Najar.
The protesters also protested against the PDD, RDD, CAPD, BRO and R&B for making people to suffer due to their pathetic attitude while performing their duties.
Among prominent who addressed the protestors included Abdul Hafeez Khateeb, Suhail Sidiqui, Neeraj Singh Manhas and Choudhary Mohd Iqbal.
