Srinagar, Dec 6: At a time when separatists are giving weekly protest- calendars, inviting tourists makes no sense. Even though the Separatists are giving the Protest- Calender consecutive for the last five months , while as the roads of the valley has witnessed thousands of vehicles and the loud calls of vendors in the commercial hub Lal Chowk in Srinagar, seemingly, how people of Kashmir are now taking the separatists hartal calls non-seriously. The joint separatist camp on Tuesday felt that Kashmir is known to be the paradise on Earth, they have invited the tourists and Yatris across the world to visit Kashmir, and enjoy our hospitality. In a joint statement issued on Tuesday here, Syed Ali Shah Geelani, Mirwaiz Muhammad Umer Farooq, and Muhammad Yasin Malik said that for centuries, Kashmiris have been protecting and providing very good hospitality but which Kashmir is to be known. "As we have been taught by our great religion hospitality, humanity and to safeguard the rights of guests. The safety of tourists and pilgrims from India and abroad are our basic duties," the statement said. Recently, The former Hurriyat Chairman , Professor Abdul Gani Bhat while taking a dig to his own Separatists leaders, at the time when the separatists replicated the same protest calendar 5th time on last Wednesday without any changes in it. His remarks come on a day when Separatists has replicating the same Strike-Calendar,"U can not move with out a strategy u can reach no where with out a strategy if you want to reach your destination you shall have to have a strategy. If you choose to do anything for god sake work out a strategy," Bhat said. For last two months every passing day, people including shopkeepers, street vendors, riskhaw drivers, cart pullers, and transporters, both public and private, ply normally on the roads. According to sources, "After facing severe criticism from their own leaders in the separatists camp and resentment among the different leaders over the continuous Hartal Strategy,Freedom movement apart, u cant keep people hostage for long. They are now sounding soft." Even though the separatists claims that people of the valley are obeying the protest calenders given by them, but on the ground level situations seems something different as day by day there seems improvement in daily activities. However, the current prevailing situation has not only halted all the works in the valley most of the big projects, but According to the tourism Department official that this year Kashmir has witnessed zero % of tourrists during the peak season of tourists. "Inviting the tourists is just a cruel joke for us now, the separatists are sounding soft or they looking out for the exit route from the prevailing situation and as the peak season of tourists has ended here, how they will come," said a Shikara walla.
