Drug peddler held with 1520 intoxicants in Kathua

JAMMU, Dec 6: Police today claimed to have arrested one drug peddler along with huge consignment of intoxicants during naka checking in Nagri Bus Stand in Kathua district. Police spokesman said that police party headed by SI Chander Bhushan under the supervision of SHO Kathua Sarbjeet Singh today while routine patrolling raised a naka near Nagri Bus Stand.
"During the naka checking of vehicles at 1730 hrs, police team intercepted a bus bearing Regd No.Jk02d 5077," police said, adding, "the police party recovered 1520 intoxicated capsules from the possession of one person namely Navish Singh@ Babloo of Janglote."
"Accordingly the accused was arrested and consignment of drugs was seized while a case under FIR no.460/2016 u/s NDPS Act stands registered, policxe spokesperson said.
Police said further investigation in this case regarding source and destination of the consignment is on.
The operation was conducted under the close supervision of DySP Hqrs Ajay Sharma, Addl SSP Khalil Ahmed Poswal and overall supervision of SSP Kathua Pawan Parihar.
