| PDA bulldozes illegal structures in Pahalgam | | | Early Times Report
Anantnag, Dec 6: Escorted with heavy security, Pahalgam Development Authority (PDA) today demolished illegally raised structures at Movera in Pahalgam.
According to official spokesperson, Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Pahalgam Nisar Ahmad Nisar alongwith Executive Officer Municipal Committee Pahalgam Tariq Ahmad and enforcement team escorted with police contingent reached to the spot and started demolition drive against illegal structures here today.
Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Pahalgam Development Authority, Mushtaq Ahmad Simani said that demolished structures were raised illegally during recent valley unrest. CEO-PDA who himself was supervising the demolition drive while talking to media persons said, "team comprising employees and officials of Municipal Committee Pahalgam, Revenue, Police and CRPF assisted PDA during the drive demolished some structures constructed by taking advantage of recent unrest.
"We are going to intensify the drive in coming days," he said while cautioning the habitual violators of strict action.
"Some influential people who have money are abetting violators as well as local population we request general public to support our drive and timely inform PDA is they spot anyone raising structure in Pahalgam," he said and appealed locals to refrain from the violation of law.
In a similar drive PDA's demolition squad was attacked by some angry villagers in Movera on Monday when locals resisted demolishing of a structure during which four employees of anti demolition team sustained injuries due to stone pelting. |
