| CM to intel agencies: Be wary of communal elements | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Mar 22: Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti has reportedly directed the intelligence agencies to keep tab and make a watertight dossier of the groups inciting communal tension in Jammu region.
The CM has taken strong note of some people who are stoking fear and communal tension by spreading rumours that attempts are being made to settle people from Kashmir in Jammu.
"The CM, who is already having tough times in controlling cycle of violence in Kashmir and is making that this summer passes off peacefully in the Valley, has directed the intelligence agencies that strict vigil should be kept on the hate mongers. She has also told them a dossier should be made in a watertight manner so that it can be used for booking such individuals and groups if an when the needs arises," said a senior intelligence official.
Sources said that CM has also briefed the Home ministry in this direction, and she has been assured of all possible assistance in this manner by the Central Intelligence agencies.
"CM is aware of the fact that a section of people who are settled in Jammu for last about two-decade are using Jammu card to settle their scores.
She has also been briefed that such groups are being abetted and aided by a section which is making all out efforts to disturb the peace in Jammu," said the sources.
Sources said the CM is also likely to hold a meeting with the top BJP brass very soon on this issue and would spell out clearly how she is going to take on these groups and would not brook any political interference in this regard. |
