Reasi, Mar 22: A lower rung officer state police has repeatedly embarrassed his superiors by securing choice postings at will, using his close proximity with political heavy weights. An Assistant Sub Inspector posted at Reasi has time and again trashed the orders of his superiors and used his political links to manage postings of his choice despite being accused of serious allegations. Assistant Sub Inspector Dina Nath who is presently posted at police post Ransoo, was caught red handed and produced before the then Senior Superintendent of Police Resai, Sujit Kumar (IPS) , who after going through the proofs provided by one of the drivers from whom Dina Nath had taken bribe to release his vehicle , was immediately attached to DPL Reasi . However after serving for six months at DPL Reasi , Dina Nath managed his 'transfer' allegedly exercising his political clout and got his posting at another police post . Here again, ASI Dina Nath was found indulging in corrupt practice and extorting money from the truck and tipper drivers who again approached SSP Sujit Kumar with their grievance against Dina Nath following which he was again attached to DPL Reasi . Interestingly, ASI again managed to get himself posted from DPL to PP Bhambla where he stayed for some time and got his posting back to his earlier position at Ransoo. People of Reasi , particularly the transporters in the area allege that ASI had resorted to plunder in the area, yet police bosses were so helpless before him. "He had been stationed in Ransoo for the last ten years and no action has been taken against him," said a truck driver of the route wishing not to be named. When contacted by Early Times, ASI Dina Nath rudely said, "Why do you ask me? Ask my seniors and they can give you the reply," he said. Amongst rising anger against the ASI , people have called upon the Chief Minister to take cognizance of his high-handedness. |
