Jammu, May 6: President of the National Mazdoor Conference (NMC) Subash Shastri today appealed to the Prime Minister and Finance Minister's to immediately consider the recommendations of Ashok Lavasa committee set up by the Central Govt. to look in to the anomalies of lower class employees both working in the central/state governments. "Necessary report containing recommendations proving relief against anomalies stand already submitted for acceptance long back." Said this while addressing meeting of NMC workers here.
Shastri said that Lavasa Committee in its recommendation enhance the salary of lower class from Rs.18,000 to Rs. 21,000,despite lapse of over several months ,the matter is still pending for acceptance causing lot of discontent amongst the salaried class. The issue needs to be considered when the union cabinet meets next, so that lower class staff would heave sigh of relief from rising prices and inflation, he added. Pleading the cause of state Govt. employees and pensioners, Shastri however applauded implementation of the recommendations of the 7th pay commission by and large, at the same time non enhancement of medical allowance has irked the salaried and pensioners categories.
