Early Times Report

KISHTWAR, May 6: An influential Inspector posted in Doda-Kishtwar-Ramban range is allegedly manipulating things in the police department for defying order of his transfer issued by none other than Inspector General Of Police Jammu range a year ago.
The inspector has managed to block his relieving order as well as the relieving order of his personal security officer (PSO). This is despite the fact that PSO is running from pillar to post for getting himself relieved.
Sources said that the Inspector, who earlier remained posted as Station House Officer (SHO) in two police stations in the range in last five years was a year ago transferred to Udhampur-Reasi range, but didn't join the new place of posting. He instead used influence to get the order modified for his choice posting in Jammu-Kathua-Samba range.
"The cop who was posted as SHO in two different police stations in two different districts of the range was transferred to another range around one year ago", said a police source adding that he is manipulating things in the department and avoiding his relieving.
Sources said the inspector wad pulled up by the previous district SP but with the change of guard few months ago, the inspector got stuck to the chair by blocking his relieving after 'striking' a deal with his seniors.
The cop in question has even preferred not to go on leave fearing enfranchisement of SHO ship by others who are waiting for the posting after allotting of district. Sources said the inspector is very close to a BJP minister and has become his henchmen working under his command.
"The cop has maintained congenial relation with ruling BJP and PDP leaders of the district where he is presently posted. The inspector has recently been accused of having developed a relationship with a kingpin of drugs trade in the district and framed several innocents at the behest of the said kingpin who is roaming free without being checked since the top cop providing him and his associates a cover," said sources.
