Early Times Report
Jammu, May 6: Anticipating heat from the new Health Minister, some doctors and administrators of Government Medical College and Hospital Jammu, who were loyalists of former Health Minister, have been burning their midnight oil to prove themselves more loyal to him, with an aim to evade any action over their past misdeeds.
Sources informed Early Times that after the cabinet reshuffle and new Health Minister has taken reins of department, some of the doctors and administrators, who had got plum postings by their over-loyalty with the former minister, have turned out to be a disgruntled lot.
"The two lobbies have been calling the shots in GMC&H Jammu and its associated hospitals. One of them was loyal towards former minister and succeeded to achieve the key posting in the college. During former minister's tenure their loyalists have done a lot of misdeeds and now they are trying their best to evade action over the past misdeeds", sources said.
The lower staff of the college complained against the administrators before former minister. But when the minister didn't take any action against them, they have no other option and hence approached Chief Minister about their misdeeds. "Without informing Health Minister, the Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti had visited the hospital and took action against administrators and rebuked others. Now, some administrators and doctors of GMC Jammu and its associated hospitals are trying their best to show loyalty to new minister to save their position", sources said. They said few administrators and even doctors also met the relatives of current Health Minister for registering themselves in his good books.
The insecure administrators and doctors who run the GMC and its associated hospital, as per their own whims, continue updating the affairs of the colleges to new minister because they didn't want to lose their prime postings.
