Early Times Report Udhampur, May 6: J&K ReT Teachers' Forum today demanded delinking of SSA salary, in its monthly meeting held here today. The meeting held under the leadership of District President Lekh Raj Parihar and attended by the executive members of the Forum from all the eleven zones of the district. While speaking on the occasion Lekh Raj Parihar expressed his grave concerns over the failure of the department to pay monthly salary to the SSA teachers who have been living in miserable conditions as their family members are not getting the basic amenities of life like proper food and clothing to their children and medicines to their ailing parents. He said that this burning issue has already been taken with the department many times especially with the previous education minister but nothing concrete has been done till date to streamline SSA salary. Though we held peaceful protests at all the district headquarters of the state on 25th of April 2018 as a mark of our resentment to press the government to D-Link the SSA salary, and if this problem is not resolved at earliest, SSA teachers will be forced to come on roads and for this step government would be personally responsible, he said. He appealed the Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti, Finance Minister Altaf Bukhari and education minister to personally intervene in this matter so that thousands of SSA teachers of the state may not suffer anymore otherwise ReT teachers would not have any option than to lock the schools for indefinite period and for this extreme step the government will be personally responsible.
