Trikuta Samvad Kendra awards journalists on Narad Jayanti | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, May 6: Trikuta Samvad Kendra Jammu Kashmir today awarded four journalists on the auspicious occasion of Narad Jayanti-a Paterkar Samman Smaroh Karyakram at K L Sehgal Hall, Abhnav Theater Jammu. The function was started by lightening the traditional lamp by all the dignitaries. Anil Kumar, Uttar Kherthriya Parchar Parmukh, Shaminder Kumar, Retired Director All India Radio (AIR) Jalandhar, Surender Sharma senior journalist and Dr. Satyadev President Trikuta Samvad Kendra Jammu were the dignitaries who were present on the occasion. During the function, four journalists were awarded in different categories. Bureau Chief-Zee News, Raju Kerni was awarded under senior journalist category, Station Director Radio Kashmir, Jammu-Anjali Sharma was awarded under female journalist category, Journalist -Early Times-K Koushal was awarded under Young Journalist category and Photojournalist Amar Ujala- Sanjay Gupta was awarded under photojournalist category. Speaking on the occasion, Anil Kumar, Uttar Kherthriya Parchar Parmukh said that Narad is a travelling musician and storyteller who appear in the Mahabharata and Ramayana. Explaining the significance of holding the awards ceremony on Narad Jayanti, Anil Kumar said the adi samvad vahak or mythological reporter had equal access to the warring sides and never hesitated in criticising both - a quality the state's journalists greatly needed. "Maharshi Narad was not just a news communicator. He was keen on sustaining social values and social awareness among persons with whom he was meeting. Narad was considered as first journalist by many. Indias first Newspaper Uddand Mathand published on May 30, 1826 mentioned that Narad is Aadya Patrakar in its front page by the publisher Jugar Kishor Shukla." said Anil during his speech. Meanwhile, Dr. Satyadev President Trikuta Samvad Kendra Jammu, Surinder Sharma- a senior journalist and Shaminder Kumar, Retired Director All India Radio (AIR) Jalandhar also spoke on the occasion.
