TOP STORY OF THE DAY
Ex-Speaker Mubarak Gul had facilitated Kewal's son's job in LA…?
As 'watch & ward' employee, Ishant enjoys Govt accommodation, other privileges
10/5/2015 12:23:52 AM
Guv Sectt takes cognizance of ET news items Early Times Report Jammu, Oct 4: Notwithstanding the dust having settled on backdoor appointment of Ishant Sharma, son of ex-Deputy Chief Minister's controversial PRO Kewal Krishan in the Legislative Assembly a year ago, fingers continue to be raised as to how Kewal managed this with ease along with other facilities and privileges within months which other staff members are not able get in years. The then all powerful PRO had adjusted his son literally with a stroke of pen. Former Speaker Mubarak Gul is learnt to have made way for his 'smooth' entry in the LA secretariat well before Kewal found himself entangled in various controversies. This is no base an allegation instead what the official record of letters communicated between Law department and the Raj Bhawan suggests. Sources said it was in January this year that taking cognizance of reports published in ET, Governor's Secretariat shot a letter to the Law Department citing facts in the news items on the basis of which the former sought 'factual report' in the matter. The lett...

Cong exposes BJP by moving adjournment motion
10/5/2015 12:22:41 AM
Early Times Report JAMMU, Oct 4: Early Times earlyier this week said while the out-of-power Congress has turned "rightist" (read secular) to retrieve political space it lost to the BJP in Jammu region, the BJP has turned "ultra-secular" (read anti-Jammu, anti-Hindu and pro-Kashmir). The claim was not a figment of imagination. The assessment was based on the role some senior Congress leaders from Jammu played after the formation of the PDP-BJP coalition Government in the state last March. It was also based on the attack Congress national spokesperson Abishekh Manu Singhvi launched against the PDP-BJP coalition Government, when it imposed 12.5 per cent service tax on chopper services to Hi...

Bhagwat to hear complaints
10/5/2015 12:22:17 AM
Early Times Report JAMMU, Oct 4: Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), the socio-religious organisation from which BJP claims to draw inspiration, is peeved over accusations of corruption and nepotism against BJP ministers, MLAs and MLCs. From the local leadership of RSS to the headquarters in Nagpur, reports of corruption have been flowing thick and fast. A RSS functionary in an interaction with Early Times revealed that though BJP has its own mechanism of dealing with complaints of corruption and nepotism against the ministers, MLAs and MLCs, RSS being the ideological fountain head has its own network of Swayamsevaks who are keeping a close eye on the functioning of the coalition Govern...

Ram Madhav allegedly snubs Lal Singh
"You are alien to party, I have Sangh's insight, stop teaching me"
10/5/2015 12:22:09 AM
Early Times Report Jammu, Oct 4: Since the onset of BJP rule in J&K in coalition with PDP, the party has been identified to be in for wrong reasons more than the right ones. While there have been frequent assemblies of the partymen, ministers and legislators and they have been in regular contact with the party high command, only preliminaries have been exchanged over the period of six months instead of coming up with a substantial reasons to run the government. The notion generated over the time is that BJP is interested more in transfers and adjustments of its own men and had no other job in hand for the welfare of the people. "The BJP ministers and MPs were even alleged to have turne...

Bihar poll outcome to decide future of PDP-BJP coalition
Governor Rule?
10/5/2015 12:21:35 AM
Early Times Report JAMMU, Oct 4: The PDP-BJP coalition Government in Jammu & Kashmir is not really stable, notwithstanding the oft-repeated assertion of PDP and BJP that their government would last a full term, as also notwithstanding the fact that BJP more than PDP is determined to stay put in power in the state. The PDP, which would also like to remain at the helm of affairs till March 2021 for achieving a "bigger objective", is not a political party like the National Conference, which, unlike the PDP, compromises its ideology for the sake of power. PDP wants political power, but, at the same time, it is committed to its core self-rule ideology. It can sacrifice the Chief Minister's...
