NC resorted to tactical boycott, rigging: Kishwar
5/8/2014 11:39:38 PM

Early Times Report
JAMMU, May 8: The National Conference has been accused of rigging especially in the Srinagar constituency by well known writer and activist Madhu Kishwar. She has also alleged that former director of Research and Intelligence Wing (RAW) had helped the NC.
"Is it true that former RAW chief Dulat landed in Kashmir to save Farooq (Abdullah) from sure defeat. Staying in same hotel where EVM machines are kept? (sic)" tweeted Kishwar .
She has uploaded a video on her face book page alleging that NC had indulged in tactical poll boycott and tactical rigging.
The allegations by noted writer who is close to BJP's Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi has given credence to the volley of allegations leveled by opposition parties in the Kashmir that NC wary of its defeat has played old trick of ensuring poll boycott, disturbance by arresting youth to vitiate the atmosphere, to ensure low voter turnout.
Former RAW director was very close to the former Chief Minister Dr Farooq Abdullah. He had helped and saved Farooq a number of times in the past. Dulat did it to ensure that only his writ runs in the Valley and there is no challenge to Dr Farooq, which he propped up as his point man in the Valley.
Dulat developed and nurtured many faces in the Valley and there are allegations that it was he who would decide which candidate could win. The same person had very little knowledge and sensitivity to the Jammu region.
The allegations by Kishwar also get substance from the fact that on the day of polling she was in Srinagar.
The National Conference is on very sticky political wicket and as per poll analysis by many agencies the NC could win even only single seat of Srinagar, even then it's not quite sure. The allegations are likely to snow ball in a big controversy and has given handle to the opposition to whip up NC as they are already preparing to approach EC to ensure transparency in the poll counting and fairness of the polling machines.
