BUDGAM, Nov 16: The political trend suggests that it won't be an easy job for the sitting MLA from the Budgam constituency to retain the seat since the National Conference is fast losing its grass root level workers who are joining the Peoples Democratic Party in great numbers. The constituency is set to register a change in the coming assembly election as people seem to have resolved to rid themselves from the person who has done nothing for them during the last ten years or so. The people from all the fringe areas of the Budgam main, who have been neglected in the developmental programmes of the district, have resolved to pave way for a political change in the district so that all the areas of the district get the equal chances of the development. That is why the people of the district are desirous of the victory of the Peoples Democratic Party in the coming assembly election. The villages which are witnessing a political change in the district are Nasarullapora, Galwanpora, Sebdan, Bemina, Soibugh, Dharmunah, Gotapora, Wadwan, Chattabugh, Chewa, Aarath, Sangam, Pymus and many such villages. The reason behind this change is that these villages have no access to the basic amenities like drinking water, electric supply, improper health care facilities and poor road connectivity. Ali Mohammad Rather, who only yesterday joined the Peoples Democratic Party, justified his decision of joining the PDP saying that, "There are so many reasons why the people like me have made a mind to quit the National Conference because one can see the step motherly treatment that has been meted out to our area, where people cry for the access to the basic amenities,". Rather said that the National Conference has become the personal property of a handful of people, who have hijacked it for their petty means. It is, as per Rather, because of these haughty persons that the National Conference is at its lowest ebb these days. Ghulam Ahmad Malik who also joined the PDP supported the idea of Ali Mohammad Rather saying that the sitting MLA from Budgam has hardly paid a visit to these neglected parts of the district and if ever he paid any that was to the influential to enjoy feast there and to do needful to them. His visits, as Malik said, were to meet the persons of his choice but not with an intention to look into the grievances of the general people. Mohammad Ayub Malik, Sanaullah Dar, Ghulam Mohammad Pandith, Mohammad Subhan Dar and many others who joined the PDP were of the opinion that "enough is enough and there is no harm in giving Muntazir Mohiudin a chance to serve the people of the downtrodden people of the Budgam constituency. |
