Interestingly, "Taking the advantage of Model Code of Conduct this time these backdoor appointments are galore in JK Cements Ltd. These appointments are taking place in very huge numbers, at least 50 persons have been appointed illegally under the political pressure," says official source who wished anonymity. However, throwing the government's procedure into dustbin an official of JK Cements Ltd is enjoying the plum posting by having some political influence, "What is most astonishing is that the officer, Syed Ali, who is only matriculate, has been given the Dy. Manager Grade by the tainted MD JKCl Rakesh sharma. Not only this, he is also presently at the position of Public Private Secretary (PPS to MD ) JKCL." Reliable official source told Early Times. According to the insiders, it is disgustingly unfit to allow the tainted officer to hold the plum post. "As a matter of rule, if such case surfaces the accused is immediately put under suspension to facilitate a fair probe. However the MD Rakesh Sharma in this case has not acted," said an official adding that the government should conduct an earnest inquiry into the whole matter. Notably, this indicate that the money and nepotism has been main consideration while making the prestigious posting, " Syed Ali has jumped to higher grade and despite being ineligible for the PPS post the official managed his plum postiion in the JK cements with the help of some babus sitting in civil secretariat thus marring the chances of deserved candidates to move ahead," Said source. At the time when Jammu and Kashmir Cements ltd. is facing tough challenges for its survival from last many years, the policy of government proved disastrous for the corporation which is now on the verge of end. "Surprisingly the employee like Syed Ali has appointed also his relative by taking the advantage of good relations with MD Rakesh Sharma." Said source An official wishing not to be named said that the JK cements has become rehabilitation for the entire blue eyed person's. "Backdoor entries, Corruption, unjustified promotions and what not have become rampant. I fail to understand that despite this huge mess, the position of the state government is not more than a mute spectator," he said. "If government does not wake up from its deep slumber, time is not far when this corporation will be swept away from its very roots, "he added. Recently the MD Rakesh Sharma has issued the order no 1043-GAD of 2014 dated 13-10-2014 to move his office winter capital Jammu instead to stop the mishandling and mismanagement the working of the Plant, "The MD wanted to ruin this JK Cements for his personal interests. He does care about the at least 800 employees for their bread and butter. If it runs through this within no period then this JKCL will become Liability for government," Employees told early times. Dozens of retired employees of the corporation are still waiting for their money which they have earned with their hard working, "For last couple of years my arrears are pending in the JK cements. I visited many times to Head office for my arrears the answer comes yet cooperation has no funds," said a retired employee. However the top official source in JK bank said that the management of Bank is very much worried about to repayment of money from JK Cements, "When the JK Cements graph is declined for last many years the bank management is now worry about to get more than 50 crore from the said corporation which the JKCl has outstanding from Bank," said JK bank official. According to source, the downfall of the corporation is because of the bureaucratic intervention, wrong decision making and the government's negligence. Some employees of the said corporation, while talking to Early Times worries about their future. "The corporation is the only source of our bread and butter, and we really want that the government should take to the tough task all those who are responsible for the deterioration of the corporation." |
