Jammu, Nov 16: In violation of Model Code of Conduct (MCC) the administration of University of Jammu appointed new Director Staff Colleges. The MCC came into force on October 24, 2014 with announcement of assembly elections in state. The sources told Early Times that on November 11, the administration of the University issued formal order of appointment Prof Rajnikant as Director Staff Colleges. "Prof Rajnikant who is also Rector Ramnagar Campus, joined his new duty as Director Staff Colleges on November 13", source said, alleging that for the appointment no permission from Election Department was sought.
They said that the resentment was also brewing among the senior faculty members, who were ignored by the authorities while giving another duty to Prof Rajnikant. "On seniority basis, Prof Rajnikant falls on 15th position. I'm unable to understand why he was given another assignment, as he is already holding the post of Rector", said a senior faculty member of JU seeking anonymity.
He further said bias approaches of the authorities would demoralize the senior ones' who were ignored.
"Prof K K Sharma, Department of Geology, Prof Rajinder Gupta, Department of Economics, Prof Jigar Mohd Department History, Prof Ramnika Jalali Department Sanskrit, Prof Geeta Sumbli Department of Botany, Prof Anita Kumari, Centre for History and Culture Jammu and Ladakh, Prof Archana Kesar, Prof Naresh Padha and other senior most professors, were ignored by the JU authorities", he added.
Prof Manooj Dhar, Registrar of the University showed reluctant to comment over the query, when contacted. "I was busy in convocation recently held in the campus, so I'm aware about it", he added. |
