Jitendra Singh is BJP CM candidate for J&K? | | | Mishu Gupta
Early Times Report
Jammu, Nov 15: Though Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) has still kept its cards close to chest regarding the announcement for the Chief Minister candidate for the state, it appears that banking on the alleged success of its mission 44+ agenda, it has zeroed in on the names most probable for the candidate-ship. Highly placed sources close to the top BJP leadership have confirmed the name of MoS PMO Jitender Singh, being one among the probable to take up the reigns of the state as the chief minister after the party is able to make government in the state. " Jitender Singh's name is making rounds in the political corridors of the Centre for his nomination as the probable candidate for the chief minister-ship after the numbers game become clear in the state after Dec 23," said the source while talking to Early Times on the sidelines of the BJP media address at Jammu where BJP national secretary (organization) Ram Madhav, MoS PMO Jitender Singh and BJP MP and state president Jugal Kishore Sharma were present the other day. The elating jump in the political career of Jitender Singh after winning the LS elections from Doda-Udhampur defeating Congress heavy weight Ghulam Nabi Azad and winning prize posting in PMO with number of ministries kept at his disposal has spiraled his popularity to greater heights. "His recent elevation as minister-in-charge for North-Eastern states is apparently describing his political acumen to handle the sensitive issues of national importance which obviously hints towards his another promotion as chief minister of Jammu and Kashmir," said the source. All these indications direct to certain earlier developments in the state starting from breaking of floods where he accompanied all top ministers as well as PM and HM visiting the state. He was directed by the PMO to coordinate events regarding relief and rescue operations and send the feedback. Being an important mainstay figure in the decision making body of parliamentary board also finalizing tickets for J&K , he played an important role and later accompanied all national leaders to most of the constituencies from the BJP candidates filed their nominations,. Presently on the vigorous campaign for BJP's mission 44+ , Jitender is conducting rallies at Doda, Kishtwar, Bhaderwah, his home constituency and would undertake pan state journey phase-wise in the course of elections in J&K. Attached to these developments are many other important issues that have, of late, started showing up on the political milieu of Jammu and Kashmir where the rant for "Hindu CM' has already echoed drawing some retaliation from Kashmir centric parties which hint at the obvious reason that BJP on its mission 44+ has something more in its kitty other than achieving the target only. The separatists ideology being already in 'Modi Mould', after Sajjad Lone meet with PM Narender Modi and BJP's somewhat dilution on Art 370 has helped the party, particularly Modi to carve a good niche in the valley also. Over and above, none of the BJP candidate mandated in various constituencies, though being the party leaders and workers in their own capacities, have a stature tallest and strong to be pipped for the CM- ship gives enough validation for Jitender's consideration for the post. " Jitender's candidature in this regard would satiate two purposes without much ado. He would be the chief minister more due to his unparalleled political qualities and the positioning in PMO rather than a Hindu CM only. Secondly, his stature would dwarf and decimate all the rant and dissident voices against Hindu CM as his acceptability pan J&K would be seen as a CM of state of Jammu and Kashmir," said the sources. |
