While Jammu suffered, Rana remained ‘criminally’ silent 11/17/2014 12:17:18 AM Early Times Report NAGROTA, Nov 16: National Conference provincial president, who is party candidate for Nagrota assembly segment, has started talking about inclusive growth but he is silent over discriminatory policy adopted by the present government during the last six years to Jammu region. It was during the regime of Omar Abdullah government that different yardstick was adopted for Jammu and Kashmir regions. Instead of treating Jammu and Kashmir regions equally, Omar Abdullah government treated Jammu region differently as compared to Kashmir Valley. What to say of empowering Jammu region equally, Omar Abdullah government even adopted discriminatory approach towards human issues. Glaring example is an acid victim of R S Pura. An acid victim of Kashmir Valley was provided all benefit by the State Government but the similar victim from R S Pura area of Jammu was not given the same benefit. Why Devender Singh Rana is silent on these issues? During election campaign Rana is speaking about inclusive development but he has to reply why Omar Abdullah government has created hurdle in extending 73rd amendment of Indian Constitution to Jammu and Kashmir to strengthen Panchayati Raj Institutions. Why daily wagers and contractual employees of Jammu region were not regularized while their counter parts in Kashmir Valley was regularized.
