Udhampur, Mar 11: To highlight their long pending demands, All India Gramin Dak Sevak Union has initiated indefinite strike in support of their long pending demands outside the Head Post Office here today. District President Purshotam Lal who led the protest said that thousands of union members are facing problems due to anti-employee attitude of Postal Department. "Postal Department is ignoring their genuine demands is compelling them to be on roads, he said, while adding, "our main demand is to give benefits of Seventh Pay Commission." Speakers also said that Central Government is acting in direction of privatization of department, which the union would not tolerate in the interest of nation and off-course employees. They also said that from Thursday (March 12) onwards the union would intensify the struggle and he appeal them to remain united and not to fall prey to fake assurances. Yog Raj, Bal Krishan, Rakesh Kumar, Khem Raj, Girdhri Lal and Smt. Chanchla Devi and many other union members also addressed the protestors. |
