Lal Singh makes another move, shifts dialysis machines to SSH | | | K Koushal
Early Times Report
Jammu, Mar 11: In a bizarre move, Minister for Health and Family Welfare Choudhary Lal Singh has ordered shifting of non-operational dialysis machines to the Super Specialty Hospital (SSH) Jammu from all the associated government hospitals rather than making them functional within these hospitals solely to garner public sympathy. According to sources, a few days ago the minister visited Government Hospital Gandhi Nagar and Government Hospital Sarwal and ordered shifting of non-functional dialysis machine lying there instead of making them functional. Pertinently, two machines were shifted to Super Specialty Hospital (SSH) from Sarwal a few days earlier however orders have been passed to shift two other dialysis machines lying in Government Hospital Gandhi Nagar. Unrelenting over the loopholes in the health department, the minister instead of strengthening health infrastructure has resorted to rhetoric by lifting needful equipments from one institute to another. "There was no fun in shifting dialysis machines from Government Hospital Gandhi Nagar, as the hospital is catering huge rush of patients since decades. Instead of shifting that machine to SSH Sarwal, the minister would have installed a technician in the same hospital to make it functional," said medical experts, adding the minister has nothing in hand other than this rhetoric, which has already irritated medical fraternity. Medical Superintendent, Sarwal Hospital, AD Manhas while talking to Early Times confirmed that both the machines have been shifted to SSH while Medical Superintendent Gandhi Nagar Younis Khan said that he had not received any order from the Minister. |
