In times of winter sports, TD website remains defunct

Jammu, Mar 11: Even as the valley seems all set for winter sports, the Tourism Department's website remains defunct. Moreover, toll-free number which is appearing on site 1-1800-103-1060 is also not working.
Raj Kumar Sharma, a student of Jammu University said that department of Tourism Jammu and Kashmir is the only agency engaged for the promotion of tourism in state but is fooling the tourist who prefers to visits official website www.jktourism.orgwhich is out of order for a long time.
Criticizing higher authorities of tourism department, Sharma said that in Jammu and Kashmir State has low tourist arrivals were mainly because the state government and its department concern actually lacked the will to promote tourism in state on the tourism map of India.
Sharma further said that it was the responsibility of department to update the current status of website but it was very unfortunate that few months back he initially visits site then the site shows that the site would take five hours to recover from snag and now the picture appearing on showing ' our website will be live soon ', a month period lapse but the department not maintenance repair the website.
"The only agency in state which was holding the responsibility of promotion of tourism has turned callous over the issues", another student said, adding that inspite of repeated contacted at toll free number appearing on site only responded 'number you have dialed is not correct please check the number and try again'.
They further said that it was very interestingly, even though, now a days, winter sports on peak and the tourists belonging from neighboring state as well as international wanted to visits Jammu and Kashmir for their enjoyment but the department concerned website, which is the only option to seek information about tourism in state has defunct long time.
However, repeated calls by the Journo to Director Tourism Jammu, RK Verma didn't pick the phone.
