GAD babus disregard Minister's proposal for appointment of ministerial staff 3/11/2015 11:56:04 PM Asif Iqbal Naik Early Times Report Jammu, Mar 11: The General Administration Department of the state has kept intact its reputation of being an epicenter of bias and discrimination by preferring blue eyed officers over upright and honest for important postings including ministerial staff, also violating directions issued by the Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed and the sets of rules and regulation set by the government in terms of appointment of ministerial staff. As per the details available with Early Times, Agriculture Minister Ghulam Nabi Lone vide his letter No. PS/M/ASPD/11/2015 Dated 09-03-2015 issued by Personal Section of Minister for Agriculture Production titled "Posting of Staff" demanded posting of Tassaduq Hussain Mir (KAS) Joint Director, Tourism Deportment Kashmir as Officer on Special Duty (OSD) along with another officer Sheikh Abdul Rashid, Assistant Director employment (Central) as Additional Private Secretary with the Agriculture Minister and directed the Commissioner/Secretary to Government, General Administrative Department to issue formal orders at the earliest. Surprisingly, the GAD issued orders in favour of Tasaduq Hussain while the case of Shiekh Abdul Rashid was reportedly rejected on the plea that he has worked for a limited period of ten months only with the former Minister of State Industries &Commerce Sajjad Ahmad Kichloo with the plea that he (Abdul Rashid) comes under the ambit of Government order No: 268-GAD of 2015 dated: 04-03-2015. While at the same time same GAD appointed Additional Secretary level officer who too was working as OSD with Ministers in Omar Abdullah government for six years continuously was left inert to same order. It seems that the Officers of GAD are more powerful than a Senior Cabinet Minister and postings/transfers are made on their whims and fancies. This practice has been in the GAD since long for which the Early Times has highlighted these issues many a times that blue eyed persons can easily get prize postings by appeasing GAD babus. An insider informed the "Early Times" that the officer who was denied posting with agriculture Minister is considered as most honest and dedicated and that is why agriculture Minister recommended the posting of such officers who are trust worthy, hard working, experienced and dedicated and can prove beneficial for smooth functioning of Government work besides having good public reputation which the Officers at the helm of affairs in the GAD do not digest.   Share This News with Your Friends on Social Network     Comment on this Story
