IGNOU harasses students through wrong information 4/6/2015 11:51:21 PM Shiv Dev Thakur Early Times Report Jammu,Apr 6 : The IGNOU centres at Jammu have been accused of harassing the students seeking study material. The concerned have assured proper action. Many of the students of IGNOU suffered loss because of the wrong information provided regarding the study materials, enrollment cards etc. A student seeking degree from IGNOU University, Jammu branch told Early Times that the Jammu centres of IGNOU are providing wrong information to the students which harass them. Sharing his problems he said that on reaching the office of IGNOU for picking up Study Material, he was suggested to pick up the same from other centre at Shakti Nagar. He again said that on reaching Shakti Nagar Centre he was directed by an official there to contact at Talab Tillo centre. Pertinently, he said that after contacting Talab Tillo centre he was sent to Main centre of IGNOU and thereafter directed to other centre from which the student got study Material. How pathetic....? Another student also shared same story and said, "proper information must be given to the students to prevent the errors and botherations to the students". Moreover he also said that mostly the working people and house wives used to prefer studies through IGNOU as it is not possible for them to attend regular classes or to go out daily, but such incidents are proven harassing for these people especially. An official of Regional Director office IGNOU, Jammu when contacted said, "we will look up the matter and no such problem will be faced by the students in near future" and "IGNOU Centre Jammu will please the people with its smooth working like as in other states,"he added.
