19 Docs against sanctioned 47 posts in Ramnagar | Ailing Health Sector in JK | | Bivek Mathur

Jammu, Apr 6: The hollow claims of providing best health care facilities in the state fall flat with reports from Ramnagar where only 19 doctors work against sanctioned staff strength of 47 posts. In a tabled reply to an un-starred question of RS Pathania in the lower house of the legislature, Health Department, Jammu and Kashmir disclosed that 47 posts of doctors and 162 posts of paramedics are sanctioned in the Ramnagar constituency out of which 19 doctors and 109 paramedics are providing health care facilities in the Ramnagar constituency. Government however said that the posts of different categories both gazzeted and non-gazzeted stands refer to the recruiting agencies for selection of suitable candidates and as soon as the department receives the selection list of the candidates, the vacant posts shall be filled accordingly. Government also disclosed that the Health Department, Jammu and Kashmir is in process for referring more than 100 posts of Medical Officers (Unani/Ayurvedic) of ISM Department for section of suitable candidates. The tabled reply also reads that Rs. 5 Lakhs have been released for the construction of additional accommodation for PHC Khoon. Against sanctioned one post each of Medical Officer for Health institute of Kulwanta and Rasligardan, the government reply reads, that two of the posts are lying vacant. In another question of the MLA regarding availability/non-availability of X-ray facility in different health institutions, the reply reads that X-ray unit is available at the level of PHCs except PHC Rang/Chanunta/Bhagbtarian/Joffer/Khoon. "Other facilities like Blood/Routine BP Test machine are also available in PHCs as well as SCs. However, the cholesterol check facilities are only at District Hospital and CHC level", the government reply reads. |
