DB issues notice to CS over release of funds for Hemophilia Center | PIL over Hemophilia Center Jammu | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Apr 6: In a Public Interest Litigation filed by Society for Hemophilia Care seeking status of Hemophilia Center in GMC Jammu under health sector for procurement of Hemophilic, Drugs, a Division Bench (DB) of State High Court comprising Chief Justice N Paul Vasanthakumar and Justice Dhiraj Singh Thakur issued notice to State through its Commissioner Secretary Health and directed him to file response. After hearing Adv Adv Deepika Singh Rajawat for the PIL, the Division Bench issued notice to State through its Commissioner Secretary Health and directed him to file response in this regard. The petitioner through PIL has sought status about 300 patients who have been identified by the Society in the J&K, State Govt stated to have sanction initial amount of Rs 2 Crores i.e. one Crore each for GMC Jammu and GMC Srinagar over and above the plan allocation of 2011-2012 under health sector for procurement of Hemophilic, Drugs the center at Srinagar is stated to have started working in a full fledged manner and that utilization of the funds stated to be more than 90%. However, no such proper center has been established in the GMC Jammu and that as per the directions issued by the Court, the patients suffering from Hemophilia are stated to be not provided with proper treatment in which an application for seeking direction to State for release of funds to the GMC Jammu and Srinagar on regular basis to keep ready hemophilia drugs for the treatment of Hemophilia patients in Jammu and Kashmir which the respondents have failed.
