Early Times Report Srinagar, Apr 6: Chief Judicial Magistrate Srinagar today directed SSP Srinagar to personally inquire truth behind allegations leveled by hardline Hurriyat Conference (G) leader against former Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and former SSP Srinagar, Ashiq Bukhari regarding 2010 killings. The Chief Judicial Magistrate Srinagar, V S Bhou, passed the directions after being informed that the SSP had delegated powers to SP headquarters to conduct the inquiry. "It was not permissible under law as inquiry officer cannot sub-delegate powers conferred upon him by court," the CJM said and directed the SSP to file detailed enquiry report to the court on or before 6-5-2015. General Secretary of Hurriyat Conference (G), Ghulam Nabi Sumbji approached the court with a compliant submitting that in the wake of revelations made by former SSP Srinagar, Syed Ashiq Bukhari, it has become necessary to probe the killings that took place during 2008, 2009, 2010 when Omar Abdullah was the Chief Minister of the state and Bukhari' was SSP Srinagar. The complainant is seeking probe into the killings through concerned SHOs. The former SSP Srinagar, Syed Ashiq Hussain Bukhari, had stated that the former Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah, wanted to see Masarat Alam dead and paid him a cash reward of INR 2.5 million after the senior Hurriyat leader's arrest during 2010 unrest. |
