Council desirous to open the Swimming pool soon: Sports Officer Experts denies the statement as it still takes time 4/11/2015 12:08:42 AM Shiv Dev Thakur Early Times Report Jammu, Apr 10: After spoiling four seasons in a row, the only and ill equipped swimming pool at M A Stadium Jammu, that was thrown open for the public use as well as the sports activities by the sports authorities last year, is going to be thrown open soon by the State Sports Council as per the words of the Sports officer. Raising serious questions about the opening of the swimming pool which is undergoing renovation and is likely to take time, the sports council have made a statement to open the pool anytime as according the officials of the Council, the renovation is almost complete and the pool is all set to be thrown open within few weeks. According to the information given by the official after the publishing of a news item in Early Times regarding the opening of the pool, the council is going to open the pool to swimmers and students soon, but sources in sharp contest claimed something contradictory against the speechifying of the J&K State Sports Council to open the swimming pool for public use as well as sports competitions, as the same is still incomplete. Sources also said that the pool which was supposed to open in the earlier weeks of April owing to start of the hot summer season is still not expected to get open in the whole month as the work which is in process is still half done, but the council is disagree with it by claiming to open it any time even in the month of April. The Sports experts denying the statement of Council said that the pool must take atleast one more month to get completed. Sports officer Rajan Sharma when contacted said that it was not possible to open it earlier this year as the construction work was going on, but the council is desirous to open it soon and “ as the renovation is almost done, the council can through it open anytime , even in the month of April this year hopefully,” he added.
