Neurosurgeon goes on leave, works in pvt hospital | | | Arun Singh Early Times Report Jammu, Apr 10: A lone neurosurgeon posted at Government Gandhi Nagar Hospital is on leave for last four months but is working in a private nursing home. Dr Sudhir Sabarwal had been conducting OPD for five days a week. Now it has been more four months that the OPD is without a neurosurgeon as Dr Sabarwal has gone on leave. Sources said that he has gone on a long leave in search of a better and lucrative job. "He went on a long leave after he was not selected in Super Specialty Hospital against one vacant post of Assistant Surgeon," the sources said. "Feeling insecure and dejected, Dr Sabarwal tendered his resignation from the job, which was, however not accepted. Later he applied for a long leave in order to get best opportunity in or out of state. In the meantime nobody is holding OPD in his absence," the sources said. Dr Sabarwal had joined a reputed hospital in Punjab against a huge salary and worked there for few months. But recently it has come to know that he has joined a private hospital in Jammu. "Although he is doing practice in the nursing home in Jammu, the Gandhi Nagar Hospital administration is still hopeful of his return from prolonged leave which is ending this month," the sources said. Dr Sabarwal had served in Government Medical College Jammu on adhoc basis and later was sent to the Gandhi Nagar Hospital. Medical Superintendent of Gandhi Nagar hospital, Mohammad Younis Choudhry told Early Times that Dr Sabarwal was on leave for the last more than four months. "Earlier he had tendered his resignation, but did not accept it, following which he applied for a leave," Choudhry added. |
