TBS, Mathematics win ties in JU cricket | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Apr 10: The Post Graduate Department Mathematics and The Business School (TBS) won their respective matches to move into the next round of the ongoing inter-department cricket tournament of University of Jammu (JU) on the campus ground, here today. In the first match of the day, Department of Mathematics defeated Department of English by a big margin of 85 runs. Batting first, Mathematics set a target of 181 runs for four wickets in 20 overs. Sultan made half century (55 runs off 40 balls) while Sumeet added 34-ball 43 runs to the total. Arun contributed 19 runs. From English, Ateed and Manohar shared one wicket each. In reply, Department of English bundled out for 95 runs in 18.2 overs. Devraj and Mehroof were main scores with 24 and 19 runs in their respective accounts. Arjun took two wickets from Mathematics. In other match, TBS registered a fine seven wickets win against the Department of Zoology. Batting first, Zoology made 92 runs for three in 15 overs play. Sourav and Moin made 30 and 29 runs respectively. Abhimanyu took one wicket. Later, TBS attained the goal making 93 runs in 14.3 overs with seven wickets in hand. Ritesh remained top scorer with 33 runs while Vishav added 16. Sourav and Moin took two and one wicket respectively from Zoology. |
