IMS celebrates traditional day | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Apr 10: Baisakhi was celebrated at Institute of Management Sciences by the students of BBA with lot of fervor and enthusiasm, amid the blossoming flowers & harvested grain, marking the beginning of the New Year. Students attired in colorful outfits made the morning assembly colorful with their beautiful dance number followed by Punjabi songs and the best of bhangra. Addressing the gathering, the Chief Guest Prof. JR Dhotra, Director-IMS said that the role of academic institutions included awareness & preservation of cultural heritage as well and this role had become more demanding than ever the age of rapid globalization. He reiterated the commitment of IMS to Punjabi culture. The celebration was marked by the presence of staff & students of the college. The IMS campus turned into a carnival of dance, music bonanza & competitions as "Mela Baisakhi Da" drew a heavy crowd with presentation of traditional items relating rich culture of Punjab on display. The college premises were aptly decorated, depicting the importance of this festival by showcasing A Punjabi village scene. The stage was managed by Antriksha, Auyshi, Aryaman, Ayush and the entire program was organized by Himanshu, Akash Gupta, Akash Pandita, Shelly and Gautam. |
