Early Times Report

JAMMU, Apr 10 : Kashmiri Pandits continued the protests for the third day at various places against the separatists and some main stream political parties opposing the return move of the community to Valley and reiterated that the community will not budge an inch from the separate homeland demand within Valley for seven lakh displaced Pandits.
Main protest demonstration was held at Jagti township, near here today in which hundreds of the displaced Pandits participated. The protestors torched effigy of separatists and also made a dig at Chief Minister Mufti Mohammed Sayeed for taking U turn on the issue.
The KP activists owing allegiance to Jagti Migrants Welfare Committee (JMWC), All Migrant Camp Coordination Committee (AMCC), Voice of KPs and other organizations held a demonstration and took out a protest rally from Kher Bhwani temple to Jagti bridge. However they were not allowed by police to proceed further.
Addressing the protestors the camp leaders including Pinto Ji, Desh Rattan and Roshan Lal Raina said that Hurriyat are killers of Pandits and were responsible for mass exodus of the community.
They said separatists can't dictate terms to community as Pandits are the aborigines of the Valley. They appreciated the Modi Government stand on return of the displaced Pandits saying that no power on earth can deny them the right to return to their homeland. The protestors passed a unanimous resolution on separate homeland for seven lakh KPs within Valley saying that nothing was acceptable to the community except it. They said whenever return issue was raised by Government the massacres like Sangrampura, Wandhhama, Chatisingpora and Nadimarg took place in Kashmir.
They said the hands of separatists are soaked in KPs blood and community will not tolerate their dictates. Another protest was held at New Delhi by All Parties Migrant Coordination Committee (APMCC) led by Ravinder Pandita. The protestors took a dig at Hurriyat and Chief Minsiter Mufti Mohammed Sayeed for his U Turn on return formula. They took serious exception to the statement of Chief Minister saying that Government will not allow Gaza like situation in Kashmir and said that Pandits are most peace loving people and they have never encouraged any one to take to arms. The protestors said by their outbursts the separatists have been exposed all over the world and people across the globe have come to know of their game plan. All Displaced Kashmiri Employees Forum (ADKEF) also protested against the outburst of separatist Hurriyat and some main stream political parties and accused them of dividing the people on communal lines. The Forum president M K Tickoo and general secretary R K Razdhan in a joint statement issued here today said that these organizations were hand in glove with Pakistan in hatching a conspiracy for mass exodus of Pandits from Valley in 1989-90. These organizations now stand exposed before the international community, they added.
