Jammu, Apr 10 : Chamber of Commerce & Industry (CCI) Jammu held an emergency meeting to highlight issues of business community and to express serious concerns towards non serious approach of the state government in regard to issues being faced by the business community. The members decided to non-cooperate to the Commercial Taxes department w.e.f April 15, 2015 till the genuine demands for uniformity of taxes as in rest of India are implemented. The members in this meeting decided to extend non-cooperation to the Commercial Taxes department w.e.f April 15, till the genuine demands for uniformity of taxes as in rest of India are implemented. The Chamber also supported the demands of the various Transport Associations that the passenger vehicles should be exempted from paying Toll tax at newly constructed Toll Barrier at Bantalab Nagrota as taxing passenger vehicles further would force the transporters to increase the passenger fares which ultimately shall be harassment to customers. CCI Jammu further cautioned state government not to outsource the Toll Barriers at Lakhanpur and Lower Munda to the people from outside the state. Members in this meeting advised the government that whatever Revenue Collection Targets are fixed for Toll at Lakhanpur and Lower Munda preference should be given to outsource these barriers to Chamber of Commerce & Industry Jammu and Kashmir Chamber of Commerce & Industry Srinagar respectively. |
