Srinagar, Apr 16: Vigilance Organization Kashmir today has booked the then Executive Engineer, (Mech) Irrigation Construction Division, Wazir Bagh Srinagar, Assistant Executive Engineers (AEE) and others on the outcome of an enquiry conducted into allegations of misuse of their official positions and placing supply orders for design, installation, testing and commissioning of 18 No's of 11 KV 3 phase Trivectro Meters during the year 2011-12 and 2012-13 on very high exorbitant rates thus causing a loss of more than Rs 18.00 lakhs to the State exchequer. According to official spokesperson, VOK registered a case FIR No. 24/2015 against Nisar Ahmad Dar the then Executive Engineer, Mechanical Irrigation Construction Division, Wazir Bagh Srinagar, Assistant Executive Engineers Tasaduq Hussain Dar and Karamjeeet Singh following the outcome of an enquiry conducted into allegation in regard to misuse of their official positions placed supply orders for design, supply, installation, testing and commissioning of 18 No's of 11 KV 3 phase Trivectro Meters through M/s Bashir Brother's, Red Cross Road, Srinagar and M/s Srinagar Mechanical Works, College Road, Wazir Bagh Srinagar during the year 2011-12 and 2012-13 on very high exorbitant rates thus causing a loss of more than Rs. 18.00 lakhs to the State exchequer. "Thus omissions and commissions on the part of the above mentioned public servant constitute offences punishable under section 5(1) (d) r/w 5 (2) J&K Prevention of Corruption Act, 2006, section 120-B, RPC, accordingly case has been registered and investigation taken up, spokesperson said. |
