Anantnag, May 12: Miffed over not being invited to attend official function, Member of Legislative assembly (MLA) from South Kashmir's Pahalgam constituency Altaf Ahmad Wani (Kaloo) on Tuesday threatened to move privilege motion against Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayed.
"I will move a privilege motion against Chief Minister and ministers who attended the official function at Pahalgam today in which I was not invited," Altaf Kaloo while Talking to Early Times said.
He said that Chief Minister Syed being a mature politician has ironically resorting to political vendetta. "On the floor of the house Chief minister assured that he will work for strengthening the august house but it seems he has forget his own words," Kaloo said, clamming former Chief Minister Omar Abdullah never underestimated the role of public representative in his tenure.
"Nobody from the state government informed me about the Chief Minister's visit to my constituency. Ironically I was informed by some locals of Pahalgam that the Chief Minister landed in Golf Course along with defeated candidates," he added.
He said that through privilege motion he wants to remind Mufi Syed that he is Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir not of Peoples Democratic Party. "It is simply political vendetta. Chief Minister prefers defeated candidates over elected representatives," he said, adding those candidates who were rejected by the public can't dictate officials of the government machinery in the state.
Kaloo said that he has constitutional right to attend every government function being organized in his constituency. "I have constitutional rights to attend every government function and meeting being organized in my constituency and by not inviting me the Chief Minister has violated the constitution." He said.
Wani said that he people of Pahalgam elected him through a democratic process. "Who will convey the sufferings and problems of the public to Chief Minister? It's me who is being paid for the same job. I am elected representative of Pahalgam and government must give me full opportunity so that I can put problems of the before the government," Kaloo added while demanding implementation of Pahalgam Master Plan without any further delay.
