HC stays Govt order to close SSH's Gastroenterology Deptt 5/13/2015 12:27:21 AM Avinash Azad Early Times Report jammu, May 12: The J&K High Court has stayed the order of Health and Medical Education Minister to shut down Gastroenterology department of the Super Specialty Hospital. Hearing a petition filed by Dr Shoket M Chowdry, Justice Hasnain Massodi stayed the Government order number 139-HME of 2015. "For the reasons discussed, we are of the opinion that the respondents in terms of the writ court order date April 28, 2015 are required not to act upon and implement the Government order number 139-HME of 2015 dated April 22 till the matter comes up before the court and is modified, altered or extended," Justice mentioned said. In the same order, the HME department had also demoted Dr Chowdry, which was also stayed by the court. On April 22, the Health and Medical Education Minister, Ch Lal Singh ordered closing down of the Gastroenterology department which was set up in 2010 along with other specialties for Jammu.
